‘Confidentiality Ring’ Allowed In Forex Rigging Dispute – Law360

Law360, London (January 2, 2020, 2:42 PM GMT) — Institutional investors accusing large banks of conspiring to manipulate the foreign exchange market can restrict access to some documents, a judge in London has ruled.

The order signed by Judge Christopher Butcher at the High Court states that the banks and the investors agreed that “a confidentiality ring is required in these proceedings” and that therefore some documents will not be disclosed publicly.

The banks named in the litigation include the Royal Bank of Scotland Group’s NatWest Markets PLC, Barclays PLC, HSBC PLC, JPMorgan Chase & Co. and UBS AG.
